Orange County, California
Be doers of the word.
Fabric Ministries gathers Christians from churches across Orange County to do the practical works Scripture commands (Matthew 25:35–36), wherever that work is missing or too small (Proverbs 3:27).
Ministry areas
Where we serve.
Nine areas of need, each grounded in the plain commands of Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16–17), among people whom comfortable ministry can easily overlook (Luke 14:13).
Prison & Re-entry
We keep faithful company with men and women in custody (Matthew 25:36), and walk with them across the cliff edge between release day and an ordinary life (Galatians 6:1–2).
Learn moreCare & Companionship
One trained team of companions, drivers and helpers who visit widows, elderly neighbours, disabled adults and exhausted family carers in their affliction (James 1:27).
4 areas of serviceChildren & Families
Standing with fatherless children and the foster families who take them in (Psalm 68:5–6), and with mothers facing a hard pregnancy or the early months alone (Psalm 139:13–16).
2 areas of serviceFood & Essentials
Groceries, gleaned fruit, beds, workwear and urgent help with bills: real things for real need, given with an open hand (Deuteronomy 15:11).
4 areas of serviceSickness & Recovery
Sickness, injury and addiction should never leave anyone alone by the roadside (Luke 10:33–34). We visit, drive, bring meals and, with proper clinical oversight, serve.
2 areas of serviceShelter & Emergency Housing
No one without safe shelter is “somebody else’s problem” (Isaiah 58:7). We find what already exists, and where nothing fits, we open doors (Job 31:32).
Learn morePractical Service
Our rapid-response “hands” team for gardens, moves, repairs and errands (Acts 20:35), and help finding honest work for anyone ready to work (Ephesians 4:28).
2 areas of serviceAccompaniment & Protection
Walking beside newcomers, the wronged and those who have suffered violence (Psalm 82:3–4), always alongside qualified specialist partners (Proverbs 15:22).
4 areas of serviceGrief & Comfort
Presence, meals and practical help through loss (Romans 12:15), and Christian burial with dignity for those who die with no one (Acts 8:2).

Detecting Abuse
A separately governed safeguarding team that watches for abuse in Christian settings and hands credible evidence to the authorities (Acts 20:28–31; Romans 13:3–4).
“I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”
Our calling
Many churches, one body.
Five churches might each have two people with a heart for prisoners, but none has enough to begin. Together those ten are a team. We are many members of one body (1 Corinthians 12:12), and Christians from any church may serve without waiting for an official programme (Galatians 6:10).
Read our callingServe with us
Use whatever gift you have received to serve others (1 Peter 4:10). We will vet you, equip you and send you where you are needed.
ContinueAsk for help
Ask, and it will be given to you (Matthew 7:7). No conditions, no questions about your faith, nothing to repay.

Partners in the gospel (Philippians 1:5), never members. Lend a hall, host a family, enter a team or adopt a ministry.

The rule beneath every rule
No one has to earn our help.
Not by being pleasant, Christian, grateful or able to repay us. Christ told us to love our enemies (Matthew 5:44), to feed even those who oppose us (Romans 12:20), and to welcome those who can never return the favour (Luke 14:12–14).
That mercy works alongside wise boundaries and safeguarding, never against them (Matthew 10:16).
Christian Sport
Churches playing together for local charity.
Churches field teams, play other churches and bring their friends. Whatever we do, we do to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31): the champion lifts the cup, and the charity takes the pot.
Here am I. Send me.
Bring your skills, your car, your toolbox or simply your Saturday mornings. The harvest is plentiful and the labourers are few (Matthew 9:37–38).
