Accompaniment & Protection

Walking beside newcomers, the wronged and those who have suffered violence (Psalm 82:3–4), always alongside qualified specialist partners (Proverbs 15:22).

“Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute.”
(Proverbs 31:8)

Newcomers & strangers

Welcome people without local friends and help them with everyday life (Leviticus 19:34; Hebrews 13:2).

Scriptural basis

Leviticus 19:33–34; Deuteronomy 10:18–19; Matthew 25:35; Hebrews 13:2

  • Help with everyday forms and finding trustworthy services
  • Furniture and food

Who serves

  • Language volunteers
  • Drivers
  • Hosts
  • Paperwork helpers
  • Community guides

Our commitment. We know the limits of our calling (Romans 12:3): volunteers never act as legal advisers and always refer to qualified professionals.

The wronged & voiceless

Stand beside people who are mistreated or cannot speak up for themselves (Proverbs 31:8).

Scriptural basis

Isaiah 1:17; Jeremiah 22:3; Proverbs 31:8–9

  • Help recovering wages that were never paid (James 5:4)
  • Help correcting obvious official errors

Who serves

  • Qualified lawyers
  • Translators
  • Partner liaisons

Our commitment. We act on specific, identifiable wrongs, never as a political campaign (John 18:36).

Survivors of sexual violence

Make sure no survivor is left desolate, disbelieved or alone through medical and legal processes (2 Samuel 13:20; Psalm 34:18).

Scriptural basis

Psalm 82:3–4; Proverbs 31:8–9; Psalm 34:18; 2 Samuel 13

Class I principle: protect the weak and care for the brokenhearted. Class III for specialist support structures.

What we do

  • Screened, trained volunteers placed with certified specialist centres
  • Safe accompaniment and transport
  • Meals, childcare and household help
  • Longer-term Christian friendship, when the survivor wants it

Who serves

  • Accompaniment volunteers
  • Qualified counsellors
  • Medical professionals
  • Legal referral volunteers
  • Drivers

Our commitment. We protect the weak (Psalm 82:4): volunteers never investigate, counsel beyond their training or press for reconciliation.

Domestic abuse

Help people reach safety without being pressured into silence or reconciliation (Psalm 82:4; Colossians 3:19).

Scriptural basis

Psalm 82:3–4; Proverbs 31:8–9; Ephesians 5:25–29; Colossians 3:19

Class I principle: protect the weak and refuse violence. Class III for shelter and case-management systems.

  • Childcare
  • Referral to certified domestic-abuse services, and long-term friendship

Who serves

  • Accompaniment volunteers
  • Drivers
  • Childcare volunteers

Our commitment. God has given police and courts to restrain evil (Romans 13:3–4): we never mediate active abuse or let church process stand in their place.

Serve in Accompaniment.

Whatever gift you have received, use it to serve others, as good stewards of God’s varied grace (1 Peter 4:10).
