Ministry Areas

Grief & Comfort

Presence, meals and practical help through loss (Romans 12:15), and Christian burial with dignity for those who die with no one (Acts 8:2).

“Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.”
(Romans 12:15)

The grieving & brokenhearted

Presence, practical help and Christian comfort through bereavement (2 Corinthians 1:3–4).

Scriptural basis

Psalm 34:18; Isaiah 61:1–3; Romans 12:15

Class I: Romans 12:15 commands us to weep with those who weep. The group format is Class III.

What we do

  • Trained bereavement visitors
  • Meals and household help after a death
  • Practical help with funerals
  • Small grief groups and anniversary visits
  • Referral to professional counselling where needed

Who serves

  • Visitors
  • Group leaders
  • Meal teams
  • Pastoral volunteers
  • Licensed counsellors

Our commitment. There is a time to mourn (Ecclesiastes 3:4): we never hurry grief, and volunteer care never poses as therapy.

The forgotten dead

Make sure no one who dies alone is buried as if their life meant nothing (Genesis 1:27; Acts 8:2).

Scriptural basis

Genesis 23; Deuteronomy 21:23; Acts 9:36–39

Class II/III: a strong biblical pattern of honouring the dead. The modern ministry is an application.

What we do

  • Working within Orange County’s process for unclaimed remains
  • Attending or arranging memorial services where lawful
  • Christian presence and burial help for those who have no one

Who serves

  • Memorial volunteers
  • Pastoral volunteers
  • Administrators

Our commitment. We respect county procedure, family rights and any known wishes of the deceased (Romans 13:1).

Serve in Grief & Comfort.

Whatever gift you have received, use it to serve others, as good stewards of God’s varied grace (1 Peter 4:10).
