What We Believe

Grounded in Scripture.

A short Statement of Faith keeps us anchored and leaves secondary questions to your local church (Romans 14:1). Our volunteers come from across Protestant traditions; what unites us is personal conviction, not a denominational label (Ephesians 4:4–6).

“Contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.”
(Jude 3)

Statement of Faith

Affirmed by every ministry leader and director, every year

  1. 01The full authority and truthfulness of Holy Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16–17; John 17:17).
  2. 02One God, eternally Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and the true deity and humanity of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19; John 1:1, 14).
  3. 03The atoning death and bodily resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Luke 24:39).
  4. 04Salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone, not by human effort (Ephesians 2:8–9; Acts 4:12).
  5. 05The call to love God and neighbour, and to do good works as the fruit of faith (Mark 12:30–31; Ephesians 2:10).
  6. 06The God-given dignity of every human life, from conception (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139:13–16).
  7. 07The continuing importance and autonomy of the local church (Hebrews 10:24–25; Acts 14:23).
  8. 08Our stated understanding of the qualifications for governing spiritual leadership (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9).

Permission without pressure

We are a Christian ministry, not a secular charity wearing a Christian name (Romans 1:16). Yet our help never depends on your faith, your attendance or your willingness to talk about God (Luke 6:35).

Rooted in the local church

Fabric is interchurch and independent, but never apart from the church. We are not a church, and we never draw people away from theirs (Hebrews 13:17). The New Testament churches cooperated across congregations, pooling resources and sending help (2 Corinthians 8:1–4); that is all we seek to do.

Anyone who leads, mentors, teaches, leads prayer or represents Fabric personally affirms our Statement of Faith and conduct covenant (Titus 1:9). Professionals of any faith may serve in clearly bounded roles, such as a clinician, a lawyer or a referee, without teaching doctrine.

“The ministries may be commanded. The corporation is only the tool.”

Order of authority

What governs what.

Lower documents serve the higher ones and can never quietly redefine them. The grass withers and the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever (Isaiah 40:8).
